Battlefords Interval House Society Inc. is a community-based non-profit, registered charity which provides 24-hour safe temporary shelter and support for women and their children who are leaving circumstances of violence and abuse. We are a 15-bed shelter with 6 separate rooms.
We have been effectively serving the Battlefords and surrounding communities since 1980. Since then, we have evolved significantly, providing more than just a women’s shelter. Today we offer support, resources, and referral services focused on safety, healing, and stability for women and their children.
The shelter operates like a house – everyone assists in preparation of meals and in keeping the house clean and safe for all. Each woman, or a woman and her children, has their own bedroom. The kitchen, living room, bathrooms, and play area are common areas for everyone to share.
